我們都認同其實孩子的社會情緒認知是很重要的基礎
Dominic 表示這條路沒有捷徑,孩子們會被要求要坐好,但我們好像不曾教過如何處理焦慮;我們也會被要求要專心聽別人說,但傾聽並不是說了就能做到這樣容易的事情

而讓我們收穫很多的,是 Learning for Well-Being Foundation 對「獨特潛能」的看法

如何讓孩子們在過程中也能感受到自己的獨特是被接納、尊重、欣賞的,也是童心圓接下來重要的挑戰

In this interview, Dominic and Maria shared many valuable insights with us.
We all agreed that children’s social and emotional understanding is a crucial foundation.
Dominic pointed out that there are no shortcuts. Children are often told to sit still, but we rarely teach them how to manage their emotions. Similarly, we expect them to listen attentively, but true listening is not something that comes easily just because we say it.
One of our biggest takeaways came from the Learning for Well-Being Foundation’s perspective on “unique potential”:
“I need to be the same, but I need to be different at the same time.”
How can we help children feel that their uniqueness is accepted, respected, and appreciated throughout the process?
This will be one of the key challenges for TONEgether moving forward.
